ENERGY CENTERS

The word chakra comes from the Sanskrit language which means wheel or vortex. In the Hindu tradition, the human body is believed to have seven energy centers, namely chakras, along the vertical axis. These energy centers govern physical, emotional and mental health of a person. When the energy flows freely from the chakras, the body functions properly.
The Chinese culture holds a similar philosophy. In the practice of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture, the human body has intricate meridian system transferring, energy or “qi” through out the body. “Qi” must circulate freely and smoothly throughout the body to have optimal health.
Both the Hindu and Chinese tradition suggests that when the energy centers are clogged or are in a state of imbalance, outer symptoms such as disease, physical or emotional disturbances manifest.
